What Senco roofing nailers offer that the imports do not
American pneumatic with deep parts support
Senco has been building nailers in Cincinnati since the 1950s. The roofing line is not as flashy as MAX or as ubiquitous as Bostitch, but every gun ships with a service manual and parts that have been the same for years.
If you live in a market with a Senco service center, this is the brand where you can hand the gun over the counter and get it back the next day. That is rare.
RoofPro and what to expect
The Senco RoofPro line covers the standard 7/8 inch through 1-3/4 inch coil nail range. Drives anywhere from 80 to 120 PSI. Magnesium body, sequential or contact trigger. Nothing exotic, all of it durable.
Weight runs around 5.5 to 5.8 pounds depending on model. That puts it right between the Bostitch RN46 and the MAX CN445R3.
When Senco roofing nailers are the right pick
If you want pneumatic, you want US service support, and you want to skip the cordless premium, Senco is the smart middle path. The price runs slightly above Bostitch and below MAX.
Pair it with standard 15 degree wire collated 1-1/4 inch coil nails for everyday work, or step up to ring shank in high wind zones. Same coils that fit any other major brand will fit a Senco.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Senco still made in the USA?
- Senco's headquarters and main service operations are still in Cincinnati. Manufacturing for some lines has moved overseas, but the engineering and parts pipeline remains American.
- How does Senco compare to Bostitch RN46?
- Similar weight, similar capacity (7/8 inch to 1-3/4 inch coils), similar price. The biggest differentiator is service network. Senco has stronger service center coverage in the central US; Bostitch has wider parts distribution overall.
- Will Bostitch coil nails fit a Senco roofer?
- Yes. Senco uses the standard 15 degree wire collation that's the industry default. Any major brand of 15 degree wire-collated coil roofing nail (Bostitch, MAX, Metabo HPT, Grex, Jaaco) will fire from a Senco gun.
- Does Senco make a cordless roofing nailer?
- Not currently in the US market. For cordless roofing, the leading options are DeWalt DCN45RN and Milwaukee M18.
